The year was 1947. India was divided into India and Pakistan. Mr. Khairati Lal Jain arrived on the ‘India’ side of the division. The story of those times does not need any written pieces. Mr. Jain arrived with little more than hope to build a secure future. He started putting his actions into vision by opening a small general store in Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar. It was only later that he ventured into manufacturing rubber goods in Shahdara, Delhi, along with his sons. 

With a great belief in themselves, the family introspected their situation, moved to Gurgaon, and established a sporting goods facility under the name “Coronation Sporting Company”. It was not until the year 1980 that the term “COSCO” was coined. This was nothing but an era of revolution for the Indian sports equipment market. 'COSCO' became the first Indian company to manufacture basketballs. The year 2007 marked the achievement of the prestigious FIFA Approved Quality mark, which is termed the highest in the certification of footballs. 

The company kept hitting milestone after milestone and produced millions of ITF (International Tennis Ball Federation)-approved tennis balls, making the name ‘COSCO’ synonymous with cricket and tennis balls all over India. Children and adults of all ages could be seen playing with ‘COSCO’ balls in the streets. The platform became public in 1994 and got listed on the BSE, entering into the extensive range of sports and fitness equipment.

COSCO today has risen from a humble ball manufacturer into a premium brand with over 1,000 SKUs, and the list is still growing. Their state-of-the-art 300,000 sq. ft establishment in Gurugram (earlier known as 'Gurgaon') houses a professional and very talented team of over 650 professionals. The platform has a solid distribution network of 800+ dealers and continues growing partnerships with a plethora of national and international brands. 

The last four decades are a testament to the unmatched quality and professionalism. COSCO believes in giving back to the community, which can be recognised from its involvement in CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiatives.
